It’s windy and rainy here all weekend, and many people stayed away from last night’s Time/Play concert at MIT. But boy am I glad we went. Seeing my friend Theo Chandler’s Time Pieces, with more percussion in one room than I’ve ever seen, was an absolute thrill.

In MIT's in-the-round Thomas Tull concert hall, half a dozen musicians play timpani, drums, gongs, and other percussion instruments, while another plays piano and another violin. Yellow and blue light pervade the scene.
